Data Protection

Data protection is an important topic for us. In the following sections, you will find out in this data protection declaration which personal data we process, how and for what purpose. In addition, we also provide information about the rights of persons whose data we process. This information relates in particular to data acquired via https://www.onlineverkehrstheorie.ch and https://www.elysion-gmbh.ch.

2. personal data

Personal data is any information relating to an identified or identifiable natural or legal person.

Determined means: a person is directly identifiable on the basis of the data.

Identifiable means: a person is not identifiable by the data in question alone, but with the help of other information. Only when the effort to identify would be unreasonably great is the person no longer considered identifiable.

We process personal data in accordance with Swiss data protection law, such as in particular the Federal Data Protection Act (FADP) and the Ordinance to the Federal Data Protection Act (FDPA).

In order to offer our services in a user-friendly and permanent manner, we process the necessary personal data. In particular, this is data that we receive through the browser and the access devices used, such as meta or usage data or browser and device data. Furthermore, data is collected if you wish to contact us. In this context, we only collect data that is required for the duration of the respective purpose. All other data is deleted or made anonymous. If we process personal data, the persons concerned have the right to have it deleted.

As a matter of principle, we only process personal data with the consent of the person concerned, unless the processing is required for other (legal) reasons, e.g. for the fulfilment of a contract. We also process personal data that we receive from third parties, provided that the processing is legally permissible. Third parties may also process personal data for us or with us, in particular third parties whose services we use, such as the Google Adsense programme (more details below). When using third-party providers, we ensure that legal data protection is in place.

The third-party providers are located in Switzerland or in the European Economic Area (EEA) or in states whose data protection law guarantees adequate data protection in the opinion of the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC) or if adequate data protection is guaranteed by law for other reasons, e.g. through appropriate certification

3. rights of data subjects

Every person whose data we collect has the right to request information about the data stored about him or her.

You can request information:

- about all data available about you in a data collection, including information about where it comes from
- the purpose of the processing and, if applicable, the legal basis for the processing
- the categories of data processed
- the parties involved in a data file, and
- about the persons and bodies to whom data are transmitted (data recipients).

Data subjects whose personal data we process have a right of appeal to the competent supervisory authority: Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC).

4. data security

We take appropriate as well as suitable technical and organisational measures to ensure data protection and in particular data security. In order to secure communication, access to our website takes place through encryption (SSL / TLS, in particular with HTTPS).

5. use of the website

5.1 Cookies

We may use permanent or temporary cookies for our website. If cookies are not desired, they can be disabled via the browser.

For some cookies, a general objection is possible, e.g. via the Network Advertising Initiative (NAI), YourAdChoices (Digital Advertising Alliance) or YourOnlineChoices.

5.2 Server log files

We may record the following information for each access to our website, provided that this information can be determined by our web server:

- IP address

- Date and time incl. time zone

- HTTP status code

- Operating system used

- Browser used including language and version

- Pages viewed on our website

- Approximate location

We store such information, which may also constitute personal data, in server log files.

We need this information to be able to provide our services in a user-friendly manner and to detect unauthorised access, thus ensuring the security of personal data.

6. success and reach measurement

We use services to determine how our online offer is used. This allows us, for example, to measure the success and reach of our online offer. The reach is measured by recording the Internet Protocol (IP) addresses. The IP addresses are only stored in anonymised form.

In order to analyse website usage, cookies can be used and profiles can be created in anonymised form. For example, the pages visited and the total time spent on the website are recorded, and information about, for example, the browser used or the approximate location may also be stored, analogous to the data created for the server log files. We cannot identify individual visitors through the profiles.

We use in particular:

7. advertising

7.3.1 Google Ads

We may use conversion tracking on our websites to measure the success of our advertising. For this purpose, we transmit (possibly also personal) data to Google.

Information on the type, scope and purpose of data processing by Google can be found in the privacy and security principles and in the privacy policy of Google in each case, in the information on how Google uses data from websites on which Google services are used and in the information on cookies at Google. It is possible to object to personalised advertising.
