245 Overtaking for trucks prohibited. Forbids the drivers of heavy motor vehicles to overtake multi-track motor vehicles and trams. Company cars are exempt from this prohibition.

If possible and risk-free, the driver may overtake motor vehicles that can not drive more than 30 km/h. Travelling trams may be passed on the right.

246 U-turns not allowed At the relevant place, U-turns are prohibited.

247 Minimum distance. Obligates the drivers of motor vehicles and articulated vehicles with a total weight of more than 3.5 t, to keep the specified minimum distance between themselves.

248 Snow chains obligatory. Means that multi-track motor vehicles may only be driven on the relevant lane if, at least two drive wheels on the same axle, or in the case of double wheels, one driving wheel on each side, are fitted with metal cutting chains. This also applies to three-wheel motor vehicles. Similar devices approved by the Federal Office from other material are also permitted.
