Instruction signals Indicate a regulation (regulation sign) or prohibition (prohibition sign). They are usually round.

Prohibition signals Generally have a red border and a black symbol on a white background. Forbids doing something.

Regulation signals Have a narrow white border and a white symbol on a blue background. Orders to do something.

If a rule is announced for something which will come in to effect later, a "Distance panel" (501 ) is attached.

Exceptions to stated regulations (for example, "Parking with written exception approval") are noted on an additional panel.

In the case of driving bans, as well as size and weight restrictions, the note "Shuttle service permitted" permits:

· Trips to deliver or pick up goods from local residents.
· Journeys by local residents and persons who have to work on adjacent sites or to meet residents.
· Transport of such persons by third parties.
