Warning signs

123 Children. Indicates that children are likely to be on the road. Children often behave unpredictably. The driver must give a signal and keep the speed moderate or stop if necessary, if careless children are on or near the road. The sign is placed in areas where there are schools, playgrounds etc.

124 Animals crossing. Indicates the possibility of wildlife on the road. The driver has to dim the lights in case wildlife appears in their headlights

125 Animals. Warns of unattended animals on the road. Here, the animal sign shows the animal species which usually appears. The sign is in pasture areas, which do not have to be fenced. It is also placed on main roads where there is a lot of cattle.

126 Oncoming traffic. Warns of oncoming vehicles, the sign is found:

a) On motorways, in case a lane is reserved for oncoming traffic (e.g. due to accidents or construction work on the opposite lane).
b) At the beginning of an expressway, if it follows a motorway.
c) At the end of one-way streets, if a road with an oncoming traffic follows.
