Warning signs

Usually, hazard signs have the shape of an equilateral triangle with a red edge. The nature of the danger is indicated in the center of the signal on a white ground. In the case of a danger signals, the speed must be reduced and, if necessary, the driver should prepare to brake.

The hazard signs are only set up in places, where a driver who is not familiar with the area, may either not notice or notice the hazard too late.

The length of the area in which the hazard exists is indicated on the accompanying board "Route length" (503)

Hazard signals are placed:

- Out of town: 150 - 250 m from the place of danger.
- In towns: located just before the danger site. If the distance is greater than 50 m, the distance is indicated using the "Distance panel" (
501)
- On primary roads and motorways: at the danger point itself or at most 100 m before. In addition, there are hazard signs as a pre-warning with "Distance panel" 500 - 1000 m before the danger point.
