Driving Rules

Lichtsignal Gelbes BlinklichtIf next to the green arrow there is also a flashing yellow light, turning vehicles must give oncoming traffic and pedestrians on the intersecting road priority.

The intersecting traffic has red light.

Yellow, dormant light means:
a. If it follows a green light: stop for vehicles which can still stop before the junction.
b. When lit together with red light: Be ready to drive forward. As soon as the green light appears, the traffic is released.

Yellow flashing light warns the driver for special caution. A yellow flashing light is for example used to warn against construction sites or dangerous obstacles on the road. A yellow flashing light is also used when the traffic light systems are switched off.

Black arrows on a white additional board under traffic lights indicate that these lights are valid only for the indicated direction. The junction may only be used in the indicated direction.

The signals "Stop" (301) and "No right of way" (302) are only to be observed at junctions with traffic lights, if the traffic is not controlled by the traffic lights.
