Rule of thumb

For the calculation of stopping distance without readiness for braking and on dry roads.

Stopping distance = 7+ Speed in km/h x Speed in km/h
100

Example: Stopping distance at a speed of 80 km/h.

Calculation: 7 + (80 x 80 : 100) = 71 m

Example 2: Stopping distance at a speed of 50 km / h.

Calculation: 7 + (50 x 50 : 100) = 32 m
