At unclear bends, on and immediately before railway crossings without barriers as well as before summits, overtaking is not allowed. Overtaking on road junctions is only allowed, if they are clear and the right of way of others is not impaired. Overtaking and passing obstacles is prohibited if the necessary space is not visible or not free. Furthermore, if the oncoming traffic is hindered. In the case of dense traffic, only those who have the certainty of having the ability to return in time and without hindrance to other vehicles are allowed to overtake. Overtaking in special cases On bi-directional roads with three lanes, the outermost lane on the left may be used for overtaking on roads with four lanes, the left half of the road may not be used for overtaking. The driver may not overtake a vehicle which will overtake another vehicle, except when the two other vehicles are not wider than one meter (for example, bicycles, motorbikes) and the road is wide and clear.
